On the 19th of November 2022 I was afforded the great honour of presenting a very special painting on behalf of Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, who commissioned the piece for their Patron for his 70th birthday, to Honourable President Ramaphosa himself. The event was the Back to School Party 2023, hosted by Adopt-a-School Foundation, a partner entity of Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, which commemorated the 20th anniversary of the foundation as well as the President’s birthday.

The painting is of a moment of joy captured, featuring Adopt-a-School Foundation’s Founding Patron, President Cyril Ramaphosa and his wife Dr Tshepo Motsepe at one of the Back to School Party fundraising events (like the one where the actual painting was handed over). The annual fundraising gala event is where many corporate and philanthropic partners get together (dressed in their old school uniforms) to celebrate the progress and achievements of the Adopt-a-School Foundation, as well as raise substantial funding needed to further support the important, ongoing work of the foundation.
